Acids and Bases-Science Report

Acids and Bases-Science Report

Hello Fellow Bloggers.
This week I was working on a science report for my literacy group, this science report was on Acids and Bases.
Next time I will try to elaborate further on this subject, so I can form better and more in-depth questions about this subject.

Here is my report:

Acids and Bases

Questions:

Some of my earlier questions were: Why are acids useful? When were acids found?
When are acids useful? Where would I look if I were looking for acids? Who discovered acids? What are acids? What is the most powerful acid ever? How are acids useful?

Research Summary:

I have Found out from my research that acids produce hydrogen ions, and bases produce hydroxide ions, this is how we can tell which are which, depending on the reaction.

pH levels are a way of measuring the amount of either acid, or bases in a solution, we can tell because the pH levels only go up to fourteen being that if the pH level is under seven it is high in Acid, and if it is higher than seven it is high in Bases.

Hypothesis

Materials:

Cabbage Juice, Chemicals/Product, beakers, pipettes, beaker stands, and rubber gloves.

Procedure:

We put the chemicals in the cabbage juice, depending on what the pH levels are, the color it changes into.

Discussion:

The results that I got were nowhere near the hypothesis I set at the start, from my research I answered some of my questions and I am glad to have a further understanding of acids and bases.

It was interesting to find out that ammonia was high in basic content, and that vinegar was also basic, so maybe I will explore deeper into why they are like this, so I can gain further knowledge on the subject of acids and bases.

I have formed more questions on bases and acids and what the different pH levels are, so I would love to explore deeper into this subject so that I can find out more.

Conclusion:

The result of my experiment shows the pH levels (which represent the levels of acid or bases in a substance, which usually is a liquid) I got were not the correct, but very similar to the proper results. I have answered some of my questions with the results I got, I now have new questions about acids and bases that I want to elaborate on for future work.

Thank you for reading and please remember to comment so I can do better next time.

Have you done a science report before?
How did you do this?

  2. Good Morning Henry how are you doing? I like how you said how much alcohol you put in but your words are out the slide I know how to fix this you need to ctrl shift-V and that is it from me bye.
