Southern Lights

Southern Lights

Hello Fellow Bloggers.

For a few weeks, we have been working on making a piece of art that relates to the Southern Lights, or the Aroura.

The Southern Lights are created when a solar wind is released from the sun, into the earth's magnetic field, which some particles get through, and merge together to create the colors we see in the sky.
Many cultures have beliefs about the Southern Lights like the Chinese believe that the lights are dragons fighting in the sky.

My piece of art is made by using a piece of paper that you rip until it is shaped like hills, then you tape it to a piece of black paper and splatter it with white paint to look like the stars. Then you paint streaks of paint on the edge of the white paper to make the lights. then you let it dry.
